Something has reawakened within these past few days, something determined and musical. I spend so much time listening to music when walking around (German and otherwise) that it’s surprising that it has taken this long.
I remember my former bands and the buzz from creating new and original music with like minded individuals. The ability to be as creative and ambitious as we like. A blank canvas, a room full of silence to be filled with whatever we want to do. I miss these times, and the buzz of walking on stage.

But it is not that part that I miss, we did not actually do it often and I prefer to be more anonymous. It is doing a worthwhile meaningful and abundantly creative activity with my mates regularly. It is the creating and experimenting in the practice studio with loud guitars whilst having a laugh taking the piss out of each other
one of many former practice rooms
What I miss most is the actual creating, playing around with sounds, exploring where it goes, listening to it back. Considering how it can be improved, what the strong structure should be like, what we want to express. I like playing with the mixing desk, creating a riff and then seeing what my friends can contribute to really bring it to life.
I love this mixing desk as much as a man can love a mixing desk, which is a lot
The warm hum of a marshal amp, I have not turned it on for over a year and I can still hear it when I close my eyes at night. It’s time to get creative again. I would like to welcome to blogging towelintherain. He was the other guitarest in two of my former bands and we will be collaborating again shortly. He is also a talented poet and an up and coming writer, check him out.
